Formatted conditionally in article for Community and Pro Members. Should include the following: - Case Record Type: MACD - Department: Support - Type: AMC (Add,Move,Change) - Product: Metaswitch - SubProduct: Voice - Issue: Provisioning - Sub Issue: Add User/Service/Hardware - Other Issue: N/A - Priority: Standard unless requested as Expedite. - Severity: N/A - Urgency: N/A ## Before you begin This device requires that you use an A Record, rather than an SRV record. You'll also need to upgrade the firmware to v2.7.7 (which adds HTTPS support) and set the extension / pilot to be rung by the doorphone. #### Creating/Updating the Subscriber (to use an A Record) When creating the meta subscriber's account use the Template: Paging-Device-A-Record. This template will build the subscriber as a Basic user and will adjust the SIP Domain to use the appropriate A Record. If the subscriber account for the doorphone has already been created, you can update the SIP Domain by clicking the 'Disable CFS Line' button, selecting the template 'BG-Sub-Change-To-A-Record', and then clicking the 'Apply' button. **MAKE SURE YOU CLICK 'ENABLE CFS LINE' AFTER MAKING THIS CHANGE.** *Note: this template will not update the subscriber's CFS Persistent Profile, nor their EAS Class of Service.* #### Updating the Algo 8028's Firmware 1. Download the device's [Firmware](http://www.algosolutions.com/fw-downloads/8028/firmware/algo-8028-2.7.7.fw) & its [MD5 checksum](http://www.algosolutions.com/fw-downloads/md5download.php?filename=8028/firmware/algo-8028-2.7.7.md5). - *If the above links are broken, use the following link to locate and download these files:* [*http://www.algosolutions.com/8028fwd.html*](http://www.algosolutions.com/8028fwd.html) 2. Log into the device, using **algo** as the default password. If you need a point of reference for finding the device's IP Address, see [Step 2: Obtaining your Device's IP Address](/ct-internal/docs/ct-cloud-algo-8028-sip-doorphone) 3. Click on System, in the top menu. 4. In the Upgrade section, select the local firmware file and MD5 checksum to upload. 5. Click Upgrade. *After the firmware upgrade is complete, verify that the updated firmware version is reflected in the top-right corner of the Control Panel.* #### Configuring the Destination to be Rung in the Device Profile settings 1. Open the subscriber's Algo 8028 Device Profile 2. Locate: Basic Settings > SIP > Dialing Extension and add the destination for the doorphone to ring > [!NOTE] > Note: > > *Best practice would be to configure an MLHG that disconnects after ringing the agent(s), as calls directly to a subscriber can end up in that subscriber's voicemail box if not answered.* **Other settings to consider updating:** Basic Settings > Door Relay > Momentary Open Code - This field sets the code the operator should enter into their phone to allow the door to unlock Basic Settings > Door Relay > Cancel Relay if Door Opened - This immediately locks the door as soon as the door is first opened. This prevents someone else from entering the building if the 'Momentary Open Duration' setting has been increased. Advanced Settings > Call > Allow Call Button to End Outbound Call - This allows the call to be ended by pressing the call button on the door station. Please check with the customer before enabling this, as it might not fit the customer's needs and can cause the visitor to accidently hang up the call if they're pressing the call button multiple times. **Step 1: Factory Resetting the Device** To reset the doorphone's & password, locate the recessed reset button on the back of the device and perform the following steps: 1. Reboot / power cycle the SIP Doorphone while pressing and holding the reset button 2. Continue holding the reset button until all LEDs begin to flash, then release the reset button Allow the device to complete its boot process. **Step 2: Obtaining your Device's IP Address** Prior to configuring your device via the web interface, you'll need your device's IP address. If you're unable to retrieve this via checking your network's DHCP bindings, the IP address of the factory defaulted device can be obtained by pressing the Call Button on the Door Station; the IP address will play over the speaker. If the device is currently configured, the IP address can be obtained by having the customer download the Algo locator tool: www.algosolutions.com/locator *If there's no DHCP Server, the device will default to the static IP address 192.168.1.111.* **Power LED Indicators:** **Steady (On):** Device is powered, but Ethernet Link has not been established. **Blinks one second on, one second off:** Ethernet Link's status is OK, but the IP address has not yet been obtained **Light is on, but blinks off briefly every two seconds:** Link & IP address were established successfully **Step 3: Provisioning the Doorphone via the Web Interface** 1. Open your browser and enter the device's IP address in your browser's address bar – e.g. [http://192.168.1.5](http://192.168.1.5) - Log in with password “algo” 2. Navigate to Advanced Settings, and then click on the Provisioning tab. ![Algo 8028 Provisioning.png](https://cdn.us.document360.io/4662144b-ab1f-4796-8b7b-e9f9c609894f/Images/Documentation/Algo_8028_Provisioning(1).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-05T00%3A13%3A20Z&se=2026-11-05T01%3A13%3A20Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=A8J5w2DgP7lKA3X5zAsvn33t71LVEgaxkTM%2FSDg%2BigY%3D) 1.
