Formatted conditionally in article for Community and Pro Members. Should include the following: - Case Record Type: MACD - Department: Support - Type: AMC (Add,Move,Change) - Product: Metaswitch - SubProduct: Voice - Issue: Provisioning - Sub Issue: Add User/Service/Hardware - Other Issue: N/A - Priority: Standard unless requested as Expedite. - Severity: N/A - Urgency: N/A ## RESOLUTION/STEPS: Typically, the best practice for provisioning devices on CT Cloud Voice would be to factory reset them, and then have the devices in your network grab their Provisioning URL via Option 66 (this is configured in your DHCP scope). However, this isn't typically an option for remote users and may pose a challenge depending on your technical knowledge and your network's capabilities. This article will walk you through provisioning your Poly OBi ATA when this is not an option. [Click here for a list of supported models.](/v1/docs/ct-cloud-voice-supported-devices-2) **Step 1: Factory Resetting the ATA** If you are using a previously owned or provisioned device, please complete this step. If you received this device directly from a VoIP equipment vendor, you can move onto the next step. > [!NOTE] > Note: > > After completing this process, if your ATA's power LED is continuously alternating between green and red, please reboot the ATA. If this persists after rebooting, please reach out to CallTower Support. This is caused by the device losing power during its factory reset. #### Reset: Method 1 - Using the Telephone User Interface This method requires an analog phone to complete. If this method is unsuccessful, please use method 2. 1. Plug an analog handset into Phone port 1 of the ATA 2. Dial *** 3. Press 8 to Restore Factory Default 4. Press 1 to Confirm #### Reset: Method 2 - Using the reset pin This method requires a paperclip (or similar). 1. Power on the ATA. 2. Locate the reset pin on the OBi ATA. *OBi3 Series devices - Looking at the bottom of the ATA, you'll see a series of holes. The reset pin hole can be located by looking for the hole with raised plastic around it - it should be located to the upper left of where the model number is printed.* *OBi5 Series devices - The reset pin can be found on the back of the ATA.* 3. Using a paperclip or similar, depress the reset pin. Continue to keep the pin depressed until the power light turns red. #### CallTower Support Note: Power LED Alternating Green/Red Green/Red alternate flashing occurs on the Power LED when the power is lost to the device while it's factory resetting. Remote access into the device is typically required to resolve. First, have the customer reboot the ATA; it's possible doing so will correct the issue. If the issue persists, you'll need to gain remote access to the device - access the web interface from a customer's computer on the same network. 1. Navigate to the device's IP Address *Can be obtained from (A) customer's DHCP server or (B) by plugging an analog handset into port 1 of the ATA, dialing *** to access the TUI, and then pressing 1 for Basic Network Status.* 1. Upload the device firmware & click Update: OBi300/302/312: [https://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip-adapters/OBi3xx-3-2-3-6768.fw](https://downloads.polycom.com/voice/voip-adapters/OBi3xx-3-2-3-6768.fw) OBi504/508: Please engage CT Cloud Eng - Our EPP uses a firmware version that's not currently available on Poly's site. ![clipboard_e0a3a4b3045a8b4ec007c4c4a5f542312.png](https://cdn.us.document360.io/4662144b-ab1f-4796-8b7b-e9f9c609894f/Images/Documentation/clipboard_e0a3a4b3045a8b4ec007c4c4a5f542312.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-04T22%3A55%3A46Z&se=2026-11-04T23%3A55%3A46Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=3nVS%2FSyPT3pGd4fxEnIc33e%2FFieJroNfp5do0aElYw8%3D) If you're unable to access the ATA's recovery webpage, verify the ATA is on the same subnet as the computer you're using - a good rule of thumb is if you can Ping the ATA using command prompt, you should be able to access the web interface. However, if you're unable to access the device's webpage despite the computer being able to communicate with the ATA, the web interface may be disabled - this can be enabled/disabled using the device's TUI. NOTE: The ability to enable or disable the web interface is specific to OBi302/312/504/508; the OBi300 does not have this feature. **To enable/disable the web interface:** 1. Dial *** 2. Press 0 for Other Options 3. Dial 30# 4. Press 1 to enter new value 5. Enter 1 (enable) or 0 (disable) 6. Press 1 to Save After enabling the web interface, you'll be able to complete the previous steps to resolve the device's firmware issue. **Step 2: Provisioning the ATA** *Before beginning, make sure your OBi3 / OBi5 Series ATA is plugged into your network and it has power.* *OBi302/312 - Use the Ethernet port labeled Internet to connect the ATA to your network.* *OBi504/508 - Use Ethernet port 1 to connect the ATA to your network.* *You'll also need your ATA's IP address. This can be retrieved from the ATA's Telephone User Interface, but will require that an analog phone be connected to Phone 1 of the ATA.* #### Retrieving the ATA's IP address *This method requires an analog phone to complete. If you're unable to complete this step, please reach out to your network administrator to look up the device's IP address.* 1. Plug an analog handset into Phone port 1 of the ATA 2. Dial *** 3. Press 1 to hear the device's IP address Take note of the device's IP address. #### CallTower Support Note: Power LED is not Solid Green A **Solid Green** Power LED indicates the ATA has an IP address and its firmware is loading correctly. If a customer is unable to retrieve their IP address, the Power LED can be used to quickly identify the issue. **OFF** - ATA is not powered; try a different power adapter. *OBi ATAs do not support PoE.* **Blinking Green** - Network Issue. The ATA is not getting an IP address from the network's Router / DHCP Server. **Alternating Green/Red** - Firmware Issue. Follow instructions provided here: [CallTower Support Note: Power LED Alternating Green/Red](/v1/docs/ct-cloud-voice-poly-provisioning-obi3-obi5-series-atas-via-the-web-interface#calltower-support-note-power-led-is-not-solid-green) **Blinking Orange(Red)** - Firmware is updating. **Solid Red** - Firmware / Device Issue. This status indicates the OBi ATA is not operational in its current state. Power cycle the device; if this doesn't correct the issue, factory reset it. #### Provisioning via the Web Interface *This process will require a computer on the same network as the ATA. If you're unable to load the ATA's web interface from your browser, please contact CallTower support or your network administrator for assistance.* 1. Open your browser and enter the IP address assigned to your phone in your browser's address bar 2. Log into the ATA - Default credentials to log in: - Username: admin - Password: admin 3. In the left menu, navigate to the System Management > Auto provisioning. On the right, scroll down to locate the ITSP Provisioning section. ![clipboard_ec7f81e8d4b774d2cd5b0a4fc70485995.png](https://cdn.us.document360.io/4662144b-ab1f-4796-8b7b-e9f9c609894f/Images/Documentation/clipboard_ec7f81e8d4b774d2cd5b0a4fc70485995.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-04T22%3A55%3A46Z&se=2026-11-04T23%3A55%3A46Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=3nVS%2FSyPT3pGd4fxEnIc33e%2FFieJroNfp5do0aElYw8%3D) 1.
