# MS Teams - Name a Group Chat

## Desktop

To name a new group chat, click **New chat** ![New chat button](https://cdn.us.document360.io/4662144b-ab1f-4796-8b7b-e9f9c609894f/Images/Documentation/db4ed006-cdaa-4702-8988-d66b7e947bc4.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-11-04T20%3A22%3A49Z&se=2026-11-04T21%3A22%3A49Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=NcszjgSSGqS6QaRcq%2BtRXaWxopUkUSQ6WMo0eklmax8%3D) at the top of the app. Click the down arrow next to the **To** field and enter the chat name in the **Group name** field. This creates a whole new group chat, even if you already have a chat going with the same participants.

## iOS

To name an existing group chat, tap the chat header and then tap **Name group chat**.

## Android
