In an effort to improve security and follow more modern authentication methods, CallTower no longer requires its customers to provide service accounts for CallTower Connect to provision Teams users with phone numbers.
CallTower Connect now uses an Entra enterprise application (CallTower Teams Voice App Connector v2) to connect to our customers’ tenants and provision users.
Once the app is added and the customer approves the necessary Microsoft Graph API permissions, the connector establishes a trusted relationship between the tenant and CallTower systems. This connection allows administrators to provision users for voice services. Through the connector, a user can be assigned a phone number from the CallTower inventory, and their Teams account is enabled for calling features, providing seamless, enterprise-grade telephony integrated within Microsoft Teams.
To migrate your organization to use the CallTower Teams Voice App Connector, begin by adding the application to your tenant. Steps to add the application can be found here.
Once added, you’ll need to switch CallTower Connect to use the application instead of a dedicated service account. To proceed, follow the steps below.
Login to CallTower Connect admin portal.
Select the menu button in the top left corner > select “Administration” > select “Corporate Administration” > select “Microsoft Teams” > finally select “Direct Routing Teams Settings”

You will now see the options below. First verify that the app has been fully approved into your tenant by clicking the “Check App Permission” button.
