Goal
The Pickup feature allows users to answer calls that come in on a different extension on their extension. Call Pickup allows users to pick up calls from their group while Group Call Pickup allows users to pick up the oldest call first in any other group. This article will help users utilize the Call Pickup feature.
Resolution/Steps
Group Pickup Steps:
This feature is used when the mainline (or any line) needs to be answered by multiple users. The mainline is added to a phone; when the phone rings, others can hear the line ringing and can answer the phone if they are in the appropriate Pickup Group.
A call comes in on Pickup Line, the user hears the line ringing.
Lift the handset.
Press the “More” softkey.
Press the “GPick up” softkey on the phone.
Dial the Extension of the Pickup Group that is ringing. (This is obtained from CallTower.)
The oldest call on that line will be connected.
Call Pickup Steps:
This feature is used when users can hear each other’s lines and want to answer their lines without having to add those extensions to their phones.
A call comes into a user's extension, another user hears the line ringing.
Lift the handset.
Press the “More” softkey.
Press the “Pickup” softkey.
The oldest call ringing in on any of the lines that share the Pickup feature will be connected.
